Volume 1 Issue 3: Guilty Pleasures

Theme: Guilty Pleasures

“the truest version of ourselves”

How Perception sees “Guilty Pleasures”

“Guilty Pleasures” refers to the activities we take pleasure in doing that we are not necessarily proud of, usually in fear of others’ judgment of them. They are not necessarily harmful to us, but we feel as if they are “low-taste,” cringe, or out of style. Rather than openly embracing our unique interests, we indulge in them in the quiet hours at night or behind closed curtains. Defined by the tension between pleasure and pressure from society, our guilty pleasures reveal the rawest version of ourselves.
