OUR MISSION:

Perception Magazine aims to give our generation of students a voice and platform. By giving us a space to research, write, and connect, Perception hopes to fosters curiosity, critical thinking, and collaboration.

OUR VISION:

A club where all writers and editors can collaborate over shared interest in an inclusive, safe space.

HOW WE WILL ACHIEVE THIS:

Through our weekly meetings and monthly events, we are creating a space where students of all backgrounds and interests can come together.

Our Officers

Alaina Yan

FOUNDER / EDITOR-IN-CHIEF
Alaina is a junior at CCA. She started the club with her sister to create an inclusive environment on-campus where students, like her, can explore their passions through writing. She has always enjoyed reading and writing in her free time. Her favorite writing genre is poetry.
Amanda Yan

CO-PRESIDENT
Amanda is a senior at CCA. She started the club to find students who share similar interests and improve her writing skills. She is interested in the business and finance field. She enjoys listening to Country Music (Zach Bryan especially), going to the beach, and playing investment games.
Monica Lopez

CO-PRESIDENT
Monica is a junior at CCA. She was one of the minions who helped piece together the first forms of the magazine in sweaty middle school years. Her favorite genre of reading is physiological thrillers with one-on-one narrative dialogues (basically weird diaries that are published. Her favorite hobbies include music, whether that’s playing, listening, or creating it.
Cindy Le

VICE PRESIDENT/ OUREACH
Cindy is a junior at CCA. She is passionate about storytelling, social impact, and youth advocacy, with a strong interest in literature and journalism that explore real-world issues, particularly health, business, and social equity. In her free time, she enjoys reading, learning new languages, and playing the piano.

SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER
Ling is a junior at CCA. She has always loved humanities, especially history and philosophy. In her free time, Ling enjoys reading, hiking, and playing the piano.

Amy is a junior at CCA who loves reading, especially classic literature. Her favorite book is Anne of Green Gables. Her hobbies include crocheting, sketching, playing the piano, and shopping.

Han is a junior at CCA. She loves drawing and sketching in her free time.
Leo Lu

WRITER
Leo Lu is a junior who is super short sighted. He likes to play games and shoot photos of his toy models. His favorite book is The Great Gatsby.
Jayden Zhang

WRITER
Jayden Zhang is a San-Diego based photographer/filmmaker. Through diaristic films and epiphanic writings, he aims to both document the self and the world around him. It is his firm belief that anyone may write about an objective truth, but an introspective mind is needed to converse about abstract ideas.

Angel is a sophomore at CCA who loves the arts in every way possible. In her free time, she likes to watch movies with her cat
