Other Things To Do At Disneyland

Since it’s summer, it’s the perfect time to relax and enjoy life at a slower pace. It’s also a great time to head off to Disneyland, the land that claims to hold the title of “The happiest place on Earth.” And there is plenty to be happy about at this land, with the churros and the popcorn and the rides.
But anything can get old, including the aforesaid churros and popcorn and rides. So, what else is there to do in this happy land?
The Nighttime Shows: If you can make it, be sure to . Shows can get extremely crowded really fast and they often happen late at night, but they can be worth it. One well-known and popular show is Fantasmic, which happens at the Rivers of America in Frontierland.
Animation Academy: This little “attraction” is hidden in Disney California Adventure’s Disney Animation Building. Once you find this spot, you will be shown into a room with multiple rows of desks, each with their own paper and pencil, facing a stage where a cast member will walk you through how to draw a certain Disney character (each session teaches you one character and this schedule can be seen on a board outside).
The Sleeping Beauty Castle Walkthrough: It’s not just a castle. On the side, there is a small entrance where you can actually go inside and walk through the castle and see wonderful dioramas that tell the story that inspired the castle itself.
Hidden Mickey’s: Since Mickey was, as they say, the one that started this whole franchise, it would make sense that the parks would honor Mickey by putting him throughout the park. But a lot of Mickey’s here and there might seem odd – but odd either way, Mickey’s still there, just hidden. You will usually find them as three circles that make the classic Mickey-head shape, such as a cactus or shells near a treasure chest or even peering out of a tower in Fantasyland’s Peter Pan’s Flight.
Disney Pins: Whether for trading or for pin collecting, the Disney pin world has grown quite large. There is even a special Disney pin store near the monorail station in Downtown Disney. It can get quite complicated, and there are many different types of pins from mystery pins to jumbo pins (and mini-jumbo) to open edition to limited edition, and some of them can cost quite a bit. But next time you visit Disneyland, drop by the pin Disney’s Pin Traders and buy yourself a pin, or a few, or a mystery pack, and next time you’re in line at a store, look behind the counter - there’s usually a black pin board in the shape of Mickey’s head with pins on it – that’s for trading.
